Gas & Mechanical Instructor/Inspector
Jim, the Director and Owner of Granite State Trade School, is an instructor for courses in Natural and LP gas licensing, plumbing apprenticeship, heating and HVAC, occupational safety and health (OSHA) and related building construction courses. An independent mechanical inspector and consultant, Jim developed the first independent gas training instruction program for Granite State Trade School, which is one of four programs initially approved and accepted by the Office of the State Fire Marshall and initially with the Office of Post Secondary Education in New Hampshire.
Jim has over 48 years of trade experience for plumbing, heating, air conditioning, gas piping, appliance/equipment installation, and related courses. He also performs Train the Trainer courses for the National Associaton of Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors Association. Jim is the official mentor and proctor for the National Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Educational Foundation eLearning Plumbing and HVAC online curriculum programs approved by the State of New Hampshire.
Jim is a former Service Supervisor and Service Trainer for EnergyNorth Natural Gas / Propane and KeySpan Energy Delivery, a Service Supervisor for Mr. Rooter Plumbing & Heating in Manchester, New Hampshire and an Investigator for the Massachusetts State Plumbing and Fuel Gas Licensing Board, as well as having been a self-employed plumbing and heating contractor for 15 years.
Jim is currently licensed in states of Maine & NH as a Master Gasfitter, Master Plumber, and Septic System Designer/Installer. Jim is a member of the National Association of Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors Association.
Plumbing/Oil Heat Instructor
Dave brings more than four decades of experience in the oil and fuel industry to Granite State Trade School. He has been teaching for throughout his career including roles at the New England Fuel Institute and New Hampshire Community Technical College.
Dave is a licensed master plumber, gas and oil technician who along with his work as an instructor has worked for himself as well as numerous other firms, including Musman Oil, Co., Sullivan Fuel Co., James J. Thompson & Sons Plumbing & Heating, and Osram Sylvania where he dealt with high/low pressure air and natural and industrial gasses.
Bill started his schooling for HVACR in 1980 and has worked in the industry for large and small HVAC contractors in several states.
He has worked in many positions ranging from a service / install tech, service manager, sales correspondent, product specialist, tech support, as well as trainer for service techs.Bill has trained in Water Furnaces, FLA geo systems, Carrier DDC, screw chillers, Dakin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu ductless mini split units. He is also experienced and trained on Viessmann, Smith, Lochinvar, and Burnham boilers.
Bill has been privileged to spend 30 years working with inner city and the mentally impaired children
