This course will focus on safely servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing natural and propane operated appliances and equipment. This course provides you the hands-on recognition for properly servicing and troubleshooting natural and LP appliances as well as the proper startup and testing required by most appliance manufacturers. We will instruct you on the proper techniques for gas pressure testing, flame current measurement and combustion testing.

This course is for natural and LP gas appliances and controls and introduction to some of the newer advanced controls and complex electronic ignition systems. These range from simple electronic ignition systems, such as those found in many appliances. They will include 120V & 24 V systems as well as milli-volt systems.

Covid-19 Policies and Procedures:

  • In-house class sizes will be limited to a maximum of 12 (to change as restrictions change)
  • Masks will be required for students attending live classes
  • Classrooms have been sterilized and sanitation will be maintained for each class
  • Temperatures may be tested upon entry.

We reserve the right to reschedule classes if required.



Gas Service Technician II-Days - Tuesdays & Wednesdays - 8:00 AM TO 4:00PM

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
In-house classroom only with limited class size.

The content of this course is to provide the technician with current information , proper procedures and methods to efficiently troubleshoot and repair many advanced appliances. You will apply systematic troubleshooting techniques, interpret wiring diagrams, flame rectification systems, and measure differential temperature and pressure, identify typical problems of common appliances and controls in troubleshooting appliances.   You will use various meters and gauges to test and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components as well as the proper procedures to place appliances in operation. Some of the appliances covered include:

• Tankless or on demand water heaters
• Mod Con Boilers and Furnaces
• Pool Heaters with electronic ignition
• Commercial cooking appliances
• Roof top Packaged Heating Equipment
• Electric ignition systems
