Electrician

Job description:
Keene State College’s Facilities Department invites applications for an Electrician to perform work requiring skills in the trade for installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, fixtures, and wiring. This is a 40 hour per week position with a competitive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.
2 years of experience.
State of NH journeyman electrical license.
Knowledge of applicable electric codes.
Knowledge of methods, tools and hazards of the trade.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematic diagrams and wire circuit drawings.
Ability to compute voltage amperage and resistance factors using simple algebraic formulas.
Ability to inspect equipment, determine malfunction and make necessary repairs.
Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
Post-offer, pre-employment physical exam required.
Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and a safe driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

State of NH master electrical license.

We are a full-service glass shop based out of Manchester, New Hampshire, servicing the entire Southern New Hampshire area. We sell, service, and install replacement windows, frameless showers, doors, custom mirrors, furniture glass, cabinet glass, safety glass, storm windows, and much more.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

We are seeking an entry-level Glazier to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the installation of glass in windows, patio doors, glass shower doors, entryways, as well as custom mirrors and glass furniture, and more. Working alongside an experienced glazier, you will learn the basics of installing and servicing glass products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

·         Loads glass or mirror fittings onto delivery trucks for transport to job sites.

·         Drives trucks to job sites and unloads glass and materials.

·         Measures and marks lines or patterns on glass before cutting.

·         Assists with cutting glass to size and specifications in the workshop and on the job site.

·         Sets glass doors into frames and bolts metal hinges, locks, handles, and other hardware to attach doors to frames and walls using a level.

·         Fabricates and installs moldings for glass installation.

·         Cuts and removes broken glass prior to new installation.

·         Cleans the job area once glass has been installed.

·         Assists with other tasks in the workshop and on the jobsite as required.

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·         High school diploma or GED certificate.

·         Valid driver’s license.

·         Ability to use glazier hand tools and equipment to measure, cut, and shape various materials for repair or maintenance.

·         A high level of attention to detail.

·         Mechanical aptitude.

·         Excellent hand-eye coordination.

·         Strong customer service and communication skills.

·         Ability to travel to local job sites.

·         Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

·         Understanding of all OSHA rules for construction job sites.

·         Previous experience a plus but not required.
