The purpose of this position is to perform tasks related to the maintenance of the City’s urban tree canopy.  Duties include planting, pruning, and removing trees and branches using industry standard practices and equipment with an emphasis on ground-based tasks.  This is labor-intensive work and requires strong communication skills to safely work with all crew members at the various job sites through the City of Portsmouth.

The purposes of this position are to assist in providing for the proper use and maintenance of the City’s parking facilities and to collect parking fees.  Facility supervision work includes taking a periodic inventory of available parking spaces, placing temporary direction signs to available parking, reminding motorists of proper parking requirements, providing visual facility security services, notifying the police of the need for their services, and posting the facility  “full” as appropriate.  The position performs light maintenance services when not required to be at an attendant’s booth or other assigned facility supervisory location.  Parking fees are collected from customers according to the City’s fee schedule and identified procedures.

The purpose of this position is to assist in overseeing the maintenance and repair of the City’s roads, sidewalks, drainage, and snow removal; supervising work crews and equipment as deemed necessary.  This work includes applying best management practices for road and sidewalk construction, repairs, and ongoing maintenance.  Supervises the use of personnel, materials, and equipment and assists the foreman in supervising operations.

Rewind Operator/General Worker

SUMMARY

Proficient in the operation of a slitter/rewinder as well as inspection of finished product.  Responsible for the overall quality of the final printed product, packaging and shipping as well as the overall condition of the equipment and work area.  Assist press operators as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.      Responsible for job setup, as follows:

·         Review job tickets for specified finishing instructions.

·         Ensure all necessary materials (packaging) and information is on hand prior to the start of job.

·         Set job up per instructions on work order.

·         Change blades on holder (or slitter wheels if running shear) as needed.

·         Setup, operate and adjust rewinder for optimal performance.

2.      Responsible for the production of job, as follows:

·         Inspect and ensure quality of print and die-cut including:

·         Color

·         Register

·         Die strike (die-cut)

·         Free of imperfections, such as hickeys, broken type, etc.

·         Ensure the samples are of the best quality possible

·         Package product per client instructions

·         Maintain inventory of packing materials

3.      Assist in shipping and receiving of product.

·         Wrap product for shipping

·         Prepare bill of ladings

·         Perform rate quotes through shipping terminal

·         Receive product and confirm quantities.

4.      Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.

5.      Maintain an awareness of schedule, achieving the best possible production speeds.

6.      Accurately record production of finished product.

7.      Communicate maintenance needs, supply and safety issues to management.

8.      Complete end-of-shift/job reports, as required.

9.      Perform maintenance as needed.  Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, as required.

10.  Comply with company rules, regulations and standard operating procedures.

11.  Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.

12.  Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve quality and operating efficiency of the department.

13.  Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.

14.  Perform other related duties, as required, to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
·         Trade school, high school or GED preferred plus 2-3 years of rewinding experience on narrow webs or equivalent.
