HVAC Technician

Job Summary:  The HVAC Technician is responsible for coordinating and executing corrective HVAC repairs, refrigeration system repairs, direct digital control repairs, hvac construction projects, natural gas line testing and repairs, and hvac equipment upgrades, as well as other responsibilities. Please refer to the attached job description.

Qualifications:
Certification in HVAC from technical college or trade school and 5 years’ experience required.
Must have a thorough knowledge of federal, state and local refrigerant management codes and be certified in Universal EPA refrigerant.
Must possess NH gas fitter’s license and have a thorough knowledge of state and local gas codes.
Advanced knowledge of direct digital controls (DDC) operation and experience with DDC control software.

Working Conditions:  HVAC Technician salary starts at $38.43 per hour according to the Teamsters collective bargaining agreement. Our benefit package includes a competitive cost share for health, dental and life insurance at no cost to the employee, and participation in NH retirement system. The Teamsters collective bargaining agreement with Hudson School District provides for sick, holiday, vacation and personal time.

Field Service Technician

Summary:
Perform repairs to customers’ equipment in a timely and professional manner. Act as liaison between customer and Parts Department to ensure that proper parts are ordered as needed. Communicate with Service Desk on each service call to ensure proper billing and customer resolution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Repairs
• Arrive on-site ready to work on equipment as assigned and indicated by customer.
• Carry out repairs in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.
• Send the job report to the Service Desk before leaving the site, ensuring that reports are complete and contain model and serial numbers of equipment serviced.
• All parts that need to be ordered for site need to be included in the MSI job. This includes model and serial numbers for all equipment.
• Ensure parts inventory in van is adequate to increase ratio of completing repair calls in one visit.
• Ensure company laptop/cellular software is current and kept in good working condition.
• Abide by all company policies and directives.

Customer Service
• Ensure that communication with customer, their employees, and patrons are always courteous and professional.
• Call ahead as requested to customer locations, check-in with customer and checkout communicating closure or needs to repair.
• Identify and communicate equipment sales opportunities.
• Identify and communicate Planned Maintenance (PM) opportunities if possible.
• Distribute literature as requested (flyers and other promotional communications).

Job Description
• Ensure that your uniform is clean with no tears or large stains, ordering replacements as
needed, to always ensure professional appearance.
Administration
• Ensure E- mail communications and responses are done in a timely manner.
• Be available by cellular phone until 5:00pm Monday through Friday and during assigned
on-call weekends.
• Travel to the Yankee Office for meetings, training, etc. as required.
• Submit vacation and other time-off requests for approval at least one week in advance.
• Be prepared for overnight trip requests as requested.
• Submit timesheets as required, following necessary guidelines and procedures.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines when repairing equipment including lock-out-/tag-out
notices, hazardous material use, eye protection, safe lifting, electrical wiring safety
guidelines, and ventilation guidelines.
• Adhere to all safe driving guidelines when operating company vehicles including always
wearing seatbelts, hand-free use of mobile devices only, adherence to speed limits and
other laws.
• Report traffic accidents or any workplace injuries immediately per Company Policy to
both the Field Service Manager and Human Resource Manager.

Physical Demands & Requirements:
• Performing maintenance and repairs requires considerable use of arms and legs and
frequent (33-66%) climbing, bending, kneeling, and stooping.
• Must be able to regularly lift 35 pounds and occasionally carry 50 pounds.
• Must be able to drive and sit in van for up to three hours at a time stopping and getting
out to stretch as needed.

Work Environment:
Work environments vary depending on job location. Environment may include exposure to
dust, heat, dirt, and other chemicals used in the laundry business.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma with 1-3 years of related experience.
Job Description
• Previous experience with laundry equipment preferred.
• Training and education in electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Experience reading electrical schematics is preferred.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean MVR Record.
• Valid gas license preferred in appropriate jurisdictions.

Crusher Plant Operator

The general laborer position is responsible for performing physical and manual labor-related tasks such as operating the pre-processing and crushing plant, facility maintenance, cleaning and manually sorting material in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires the ability to work in outdoor conditions during all seasons and in various types of weather.  The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work overtime and various shifts, which may include weekends.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Operates construction or power equipment, such as mechanized broom, Skid Steer, High Reach (man lift), and Water Truck.
  • General equipment maintenance (greasing, checking oil, refilling fluids, and fueling equipment), as necessary.
  • General compliance and grounds keeping tasks (daily soil pile uncovering/recovering, weed whacking, site cleanup, silt sack replacements, etc.)
  • Sort through soil and rocks to remove debris from conveyors and/or by hand.
  • Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
  • Cleaning materials and removal of soil and debris from various equipment.
  • Works with and assists other crew members with soil screeners and rock crushing.
  • Able to safely use a variety of tools such as hand tools, grinders, saws, pressure washers, etc.
  • Assist other crew members and operators as necessary.

Job Description
This is the senior level maintenance position, working under limited supervision to perform complex duties typical of one or more of the specialized maintenance skill areas outlined below.  This particular position requires HVAC experience as a primary trade. Works from blueprints, schematic diagrams, sketches, manufacturer’s manuals, specifications and verbal instructions to plan, layout, perform, and coordinate work.  Ability to interface with the original equipment manufacturers to identify specifications which are useful for researching alternative sources if parts are no longer available or to reduce costs.  A senior level mechanic is required to understand and abide by all State and local codes as they apply to their trade and produce work results reflecting the highest degree of quality standards for their craft.  Provides instruction to others as required for the performance of major assignments requiring the assistance of additional personnel.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Refrigeration

Install, operate, maintain and repair complex systems and equipment for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration for industrial operations.
Calculate load demands.
Update and maintain energy management systems for efficient operation while controlling humidity, volume, velocity and system balancing.
Overhaul complete HVAC systems when required.
Must be familiar with the latest technologies to assure that the company is making the proper investments in regards to air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
Evaluate existing air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to determine the logical order of replacement or upgrade projections for budget purposes.
Must have EPA Certification for the proper handling and reclaiming of refrigerants.
Plumbing (experience desirable but not required)

Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and piping systems working from drawings and blueprints, insuring adherence to specifications and state codes.
Will be knowledgeable in the necessary maintenance and upkeep of oil-fired boilers.  Will perform all the necessary maintenance and provide recommendations as necessary to extend the useful life of the equipment.
General Maintenance Duties

Depending on the individual incumbent’s particular area of expertise, individuals in this category may be required to act as the back-up mechanic for a variety of general maintenance duties which may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Operate and maintain water, steam, gas or other types of plumbing and piping systems.  Operate and maintain boilers and heating systems.
Operate generators, switchboards, and distribution boards, and perform minor electrical wiring repair.
Check, adjust, lubricate, and maintain machine shop and general production equipment.
Plan, construct and repair structures such as floors, work benches, skids, crates, and shelving.
Use Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and process knowledge to determine how to safely identify, store and dispose of hazardous chemicals and waste.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements

Physically able to work on HVAC units.
Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
Education/Experience

Requires 2 years of specialized post high school vocational training and 5-8 years of experience in complete compressor and system troubleshooting and adjustments.   Experience in one or more additional trades would be preferred.
