Job Description
The pay range for this position ranges from $20.14/hr – $22.59/hr.

This is an mid-level position performing pipefitting processes such as fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing of ship piping systems, including associated hangers, which are either welded, brazed, or mechanically joined. These processes may be performed in all areas of the shipyard including shipboard as well as various production buildings. Hires to this position may be assigned to perform any P18 tasks. A physical job task analysis is available at the time of interview.

Required/Preferred Education/Training
Preferred – High School Diploma or GED.
Required – 1 or more of the following:
– 1-2 years pipefitting or plumbing experience
– Mechanical trade background with more than 1 year of training
– Vocational or Trades School certificate
Required/Preferred Experience
Required – Basic knowledge in blueprint reading and ability to follow written instructions.
Required – Must meet the requirements of the physical task analysis.
Preferred – Previous marine pipefitting experience, including use of associated hand tools.

Pipefitter I

Job Description
The pay range for this position ranges from $16.45- $18.91/hr.

This is an entry level position performing pipefitting processes such as fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing of ship piping systems, including associated hangers, which are either welded, brazed, or mechanically joined. These processes may be performed in all areas of the shipyard including shipboard as well as various production buildings. A physical task analysis is available at the time of interview.

Required/Preferred Education/Training
Preferred – High School Diploma or GED
Required/Preferred Experience
Required – Basic knowledge in blueprint reading and ability to follow written instructions.
Required – Must meet the requirements of the physical task analysis.
Preferred – Previous marine pipefitting experience, including the use of associated hand tools.

Electrician III

Job Description
The pay for this position ranges from $23.82/hr to $26.28/hr.

This is an experienced level position to work within the Marine Electrical Trade. Applicants may be assigned to a variety of E02 tasks, including (but not limited to): fabrication, lay-out, and installation of foundations (using welding equipment); layout and installation of wire-ways; installation of electrical equipment; installation of cables; banding of cables to wire-ways; packing of cable penetrations; cut-in and hookup of cables to equipment; verification of installations. Applicants must be able to perform this work in all areas of the shipyard to include shipboard, in production buildings, on the LLTF, in the dry dock, or on ships in the water.

Required/Preferred Education/Training
Preferred – High School Diploma or GED.
Required – At least one of the following:
• Two years of prior electrician experience with formal on the job training;
• Possess a Journeyman or Master electrical license;
• A graduate of an electrical trade school;
• Possess an associate’s degree (or higher) in electrical studies;
• Successful completion of electrical military schooling (“A” school);
• Graduate Electrical Apprentice.
Required/Preferred Experience
Required – Experience with the use of hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
Required – Experience reading and using blueprints, including ability to perform basic layout and simple math calculations.
Required – Minimum 2 years prior experience working in an electrical related field.
Required – Must meet and perform to the requirements of the E02 Physical Task Analysis.
Preferred – Experience in an industrial or shipbuilding environment.

Electrician II

The pay for this position ranges from $20.14/hr to $22.59/hr.

Install Technician

BAU Install Tech

The Installer is responsible for installing, testing, repairing, and servicing low voltage electrical and electromechanical equipment primarily for security alarm systems in customer’s premises and signal receiving centers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Residential Installer

Installs, dismantles, and reconstructs low voltage electrical equipment required by customer or company order.

Makes connections and required adjustments as directed; test operation of all components of each system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.

Evaluates information furnished for the job, delivered materials, layout of customer’s premises and practical routes for cable, conduit and/or wiring.

Promptly reports defective material or equipment, inaccuracies or omissions in job information that may result in inadequate protection for customer use.

Safeguards against loss of unused materials, ladders, and tools on a job site or office location.

Cleans up debris from installation, patches drill holes, and returns unused materials.

Education/Work Experience Required:

High School degree or equivalent mandatory.

Electronic Trade School training desired

1-2 years maintenance/installation or similar experience desired

 

Core Competencies:

Valid driver’s license.

***MUST be willing to use your own reliable vehicle that can hold a 6 foot ladder
