Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Work under the Service Manager to service and repair all walks of HVAC equipment.
  • Periodic replacement/installation of HVAC equipment including boilers, furnaces,
  • Mitsubishi ductless, and conventional air conditioning systems.
  • On-call rotation with other technicians in our service department.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-friendly attitude when dealing with clients and co-workers.
  • Continue to learn, grow, and develop as our field continually changes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Self-starter with team mentality and positive attitude under pressure.
  • Understanding of HVAC controls and low voltage.
  • Understanding of HVAC sequence of operations for a multitude of equipment types.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
    NH Gas licensure is advantageous, but not required to start in this position.
  • Aptitude with iPhone and iPad for communication as well as invoicing and job tickets.

Position Summary

This position exists to enable Sherwin-Williams’ full market share growth potential by offering exceptional service on company owned color equipment and color proprietary software in the US & Canada and to select customers within the United States. These Specialists are geographically placed across the US to allow them to handle the preventative and emergency service needs for an average of 200+ stores per geographic territory.

 

This position is accountable for ongoing quality performance of all SW company owned color equipment assets and for SW company In-house color software.  This service must be cost effective and timely per company directives with in-store repairs and telephone support.  To minimize store downtimes and mis-tints, preventative and emergency service must be done.  This position exists to assure SW’s ability to sell paint, provide quality color fidelity and build confidence of customers and store personnel through sound field service programs.

This position will service Manchester, NH/Boston, Mass area

Position Responsibilities

Provide service on color equipment and train store personnel on proper operation and maintenance.
Learn how to diagnose machine and color problems over the phone whenever possible and learn to organize and schedule yearly preventive maintenance visits.
Provide accurate records on in-store visits, telephone repairs and part failures that give us a working record on the history of the automatic dispensers in stores.
Learn how to manage just-in-time inventory of parts for the automatic dispenser, making sure a sufficient amount of parts are kept in stock so no machines are left down waiting for repair.  Document accurate expense record of service trips.
Learn how to use a volt ohm meter and schematic for troubleshooting electronic circuitry on the automatic dispensers and shakers.  (Will test to make sure employee understands proper usage.)
Schedule weekend service, vacations, travel, emergency repairs and preventive maintenance trips for service personnel.
Continue to train and understand updates on machines and printed circuit boards.
Learn proper usage of SW computers and phones for service calls.  Have a working knowledge of computer operating systems MS-DOS/Linux and Windows XP.  (Will test to make sure technician understands both computer operating systems.)
Learn computer and software diagnostic skills for troubleshooting problems with computer driven automatic dispenser and color match systems.
Suggest changes to increase productivity.

Formal Education:

Required:

HVAC SPECIALIST

Performs maintenance and operational practices on all types of air conditioning, refrigeration equipment, heating equipment and their related controls /component parts. Also performs local oversight of contractors and coordinates in-house skilled trades during construction & maintenance projects.

 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains, adjusts, repairs, installs, tests and operates all types of air conditioners, chillers, steam absorption units, environmental chambers, heating systems, hydraulic systems, vacuum pumps, pneumatic and DDC controls and component parts for each of the above systems.
Works from prints, sketches, diagrams, handbooks and manufacturer’s instructions to analyze, diagnose, adjust and restore malfunctioning heating, air conditioning and ventilating systems and chambers in order to ensure efficient operating conditions.
Localizes disturbances in systems and plans / executes the replacement of worn or defective parts.
Checks all areas of the plant for proper temperature, humidity, volume and velocity of air and adjusts actuating controls to balance air & water systems as required.
Installs heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems. Checks, balances, calibrates, adjusts and modifies systems and equipment after installation, modification or overhaul.
Utilizes computerized preventive maintenance schedule. Records and logs work performed such as date or problem, explanation of problem, what was replaced and/or repaired on the controls and components of each system.
May perform some of the duties of a Power Plant Mechanic and Plumber.
Responsible for ensuring that all work is performed and completed as specified by contract, engineering drawings / specifications and applicable codes.
Works from prints for new jobs and renovates and alters existing equipment to assure project is correct and complete for proper operation.
May be required to participate on special teams, including but not limited to snow removal, emergency response and must be responsive to off-hour emergencies.
May be required to clean and service equipment that may contain hazardous substances and to participate in the sorting and accumulation of hazardous waste materials in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and completion of at least 60% of a recognized Certificate program in HVAC (complete program will involve 984 hours of classroom training). An EPA Universal Certification (Class IV) for the proper use of refrigerants and minimum of (4) years of commercial / industrial experience in the HVAC trade is required.
Both introductory and contained training in cleaning and servicing equipment that may contain hazardous substances and in the handling, documentation and movement of the hazardous substances will be required. This training will be provided by BAE Systems North America, and documentation will be maintained in the Corporate Environmental Affairs office.

Note: Hand tools of the trade are the responsibility of the trades person.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Familiar with Building Automation Controls and system troubleshooting is preferred.

Maintenance Electric & HVAC

Job Description
The pay range for this position ranges from $23.82/hr – $26.28/hr

This is a experienced level position to work in the Maintenance Electric and HVAC Trade. Applicants will be assigned any M21 trade function with limited assistance from a more experienced M21, including (but not limited to):
• Perform electrical hook-ups, repairs, and operational testing of Manufacturing Machinery and Plant Electrical Distribution Systems throughout BIW Facilities
• Work will be performed within National Electrical Code and BIW safety guidelines.

Required/Preferred Education/Training
Preferred – High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred – Minimum 1 year Technical or Vocational training in electrical trade.
Preferred – Universal Refrigeration license preferred
Preferred – NFPA 70E certification
Preferred – Licensed Journeyman or Master
Preferred – Control System Certification (ISA or equivalent)

Required/Preferred Experience
Required – Must meet M21 Physical task analysis
Required – Must be able to work at Heights and in Confined spaces
Required – Minimum of 3 years prior experience performing industrial/commercial installations, motor control wiring, and power hook-up within NEC requirements
Required – must be able to understand and read controls electrical schematics and one-line diagrams of Power Distribution Systems.
Required – Demonstrated ability to work with a digital/analog test equipment i.e.., Oscilloscopes, Data logging testing equipment and other electrical/electronic test equipment.
Required – Demonstrated and clear understanding of the National Electrical Code through five years of practical application
Required – Ability to troubleshoot motor controls, power panels, transformers, lighting systems, and grounding

Preferred – must be able to troubleshoot and repair of CNC equipment
Preferred – Demonstrated Knowledge of PLC’s and VFD’s
Preferred – Demonstrated knowledge of PLC programming in Ladder Logic and Function Block, with laptop computer
Preferred – Working/ Demonstrated knowledge of Medium Voltage terminations and troubleshooting.
Preferred – Previous experience troubleshooting AC/DC crane controls
Preferred – Working/ Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC equipment repair and troubleshooting preferred
